Mr. Ferrell’s practice focuses on a wide range of legislative and political issues that are of critical importance to the firm’s clients. He spent more than a dozen years as an assistant on Capitol Hill. During that period he developed a keen understanding of the internal workings of the legislative process, which he has applied to his representation of the firm’s clients. Mr. Ferrell was later the Chief Lobbyist for a major national trade association before joining the firm. In 1990, the American Banker named Mr. Ferrell, one of the Capitol City’s top lobbyists. Accordingly, Mr. Ferrell offers a unique perspective on Congress as well as a proven track record of success in developing and executing successful legislative and political strategies. Mr. Ferrell coordinated firm's successful efforts to persuade Congress to limit liability of major airline passenger screening companies for claims arising out of the September 11 terrorist attacks; assisted the National Native American group win Congressional approval of Indian housing block grant programs with substantial improvements.
