Gregory J. Fleming ’88 is a Senior Research Scholar and Lecturer in Law at Yale Law School and Distinguished Visiting Fellow of the Center for the Study of Corporate Law. Prior to joining Yale Law School, Mr. Fleming was the President and Chief Operating Officer of Merrill Lynch & Co., Inc. Mr. Fleming was appointed to those positions in June of 2007. From 2003 to 2007 he served as executive vice president and co-president of the Global Markets and Investment Banking Group. Mr. Fleming advises leading global corporations, financial institutions, financial sponsors and hedge funds in the United States and internationally. He has assisted clients with restructurings, acquisitions and sales, public and private financing and risk management. Mr. Fleming joined Merrill Lynch as an investment banker in 1992. Previously, he was a principal at Booz-Allen & Hamilton. Mr. Fleming is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and a director on the board of the New York City Ballet, a trustee of the Asia Society and a member of the board of trustees for the Rippowam Cisqua School in Bedford, New York. Mr. Fleming is a Phi Beta Kappa, summa cum laude graduate in economics from Colgate University and received his J.D. from Yale Law School in 1988.
