Michael A. Cerussi, Jr. of Riverside, CT died comfortably in his home, surrounded by family, after a prolonged illness on February 14, 2011. He was 61. Mr. Cerussi was the President and Founder of Cerussi & Spring, P.C., a civil litigation law firm in White Plains, New York. He was a prominent trial lawyer who received national recognition in products liability defense litigation throughout the country. He served as a Member of the Board of Trustees of Berkshire School and the Board of Visitors of Pace University, School of Law. In 1996, he was inducted as a Fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers. Mr. Cerussi was born on October 21, 1949 in New York City to parents, Michael A. and Anne T. Upon graduating from Iona Grammar School and Cardinal Farley Military Academy, he attended Georgetown University and in 1972, received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Iona College. Mr. Cerussi earned his law degree from Hofstra University, School of Law in 1976. On September 24, 1977, he married Kathryn Lovett Zinn, who survives him. Mr. Cerussi is survived by, in addition to his wife, his son, Michael A. III, of New York City; sisters, Rosemary Ferrer of Greenwich, CT, Nancy A. of Delray Beach, Florida; and brother, Thomas F., of Darien, CT. A brother, Ernest M., predeceased him in 1994.
