Israeli-American investor took hedge fund GLG Partners public last summer via reverse acquisition with Nicolas Berggruen's Freedom Acquisition Holdings. Split $1 billion with shareholders prior to offering. With partners, still owns stake in GLG worth $1.3 billion. Columbia grad cofounded GLG in 1995 with investment from Lehman Brothers. Spun off 2000; Lehman still holds a 10% stake. Sold London home to billionaire Lakshmi Mittal for $230 million last year.
