James Estrada was appointed Chief Information Officer in September 2010. His responsibilities include leadership and oversight of Administrative Computing, Academic Technology, Technical Services, and Computer Services Support. Prior to his arrival at CCSU, Mr. Estrada was Vice President for Information Services and University Librarian at Fairfield University from 1998-2010. His initial appointment at Fairfield in 1996 was as University Librarian and Executive Director of Academic Computing. He previously worked at the University of Connecticut, Yale University, the University of Connecticut Health Center, and the Connecticut State Library. Mr. Estrada is serving a 3-year term on the EDUCAUSE Current Issues Committee, and since 2001, he has frequently participated as a member of NEASC Accreditation teams. He has been a member of many professional associations and boards of directors, including ACRL, the Association of College & Research Libraries, and NERCOMP, the New England Regional Computer Program. Mr. Estrada earned a B.A., M.A., and M.L.I.S. from the University of California, Los Angeles.
