Prior to joining Avalere, Scott spent several years in the editorial world, managing publications for the Advisory Board Company, the California HealthCare Foundation and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF). He was the editor of iHealthBeat and the Daily Briefing and part of a small editorial team that launched news digests on the RWJF website. In addition to these full-time posts, Scott freelanced for MSN.com, Citysearch.com, and AOL.com. Scott has also worked with strategic communications firms in London, New York and Washington, D.C., supporting brand strategy for the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy’s “Above the Influence” antidrug social marketing campaign, Pepsi and DC Central Kitchen. In addition, while in graduate school, he was a communications consultant to the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. Scott earned a joint Masters in Public Health and Masters in Business Administration from The Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in Baltimore, Md., and received a B.A. in English and Communication from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas.
