Audrey Waters is a Senior Vice President in the Public Affairs Division at The Glover Park Group, where she specializes in building integrated reputation and issue-advocacy campaigns for a variety of corporate and nonprofit clients. She has led recent efforts on behalf of clients including the Alliance for Climate Protection, UnitedHealth Group and The Coca-Cola Company, advising messaging, earned and paid media strategy, executive and employee communications and new media outreach. Waters brings a background in corporate communications and public relations as well as national political campaign experience to GPG. Prior to her current position at GPG, Waters served as Director of Communications Planning and Deputy National Press Secretary for Senator John Edwards’ 2008 presidential bid. Previously, Waters spent more than three years in GPG’s Public Affairs division, playing an integral role on the team that advised a leading technology firm through a multi-billion dollar merger and global antitrust battle. Prior to that, she spent two years in the Washington bureau of The Wall Street Journal as reporting assistant to Washington Editor Al Hunt, where she researched and edited Hunt’s weekly “Politics & People” opinion column, worked closely with CNN and CNBC producers and was a frequent contributor to the wsj.com’s “Campaign Journal” daily feature during the 2004 election cycle. Waters got her start in public opinion research at Belden Russonello & Stewart and also worked as a direct mail account representative at MSHC Partners, providing strategic and messaging support for targeted direct mail campaigns in Congressional and statewide races. A native of Savannah, GA, Waters graduated summa cum laude from the University of Georgia, with a B.A. in Political Science and Mass Communication. She lives in Washington, DC.
