Joseph Caruso is a Managing Director in the Public Affairs Division at The Glover Park Group in Washington, D.C. With a background in finance and extensive experience working in the financial services sector, he currently manages the firm’s growing financial services practice. Since joining GPG, Caruso has overseen strategic communications efforts on behalf of a wide range of financial institutions, corporations, trade organizations and issue coalitions. He provides strategic counsel to organizations navigating complex financial transactions, public policy challenges and reputation-related issues. He has developed expertise in a broad set of topics related to capital market issues, alternative investments, financial regulatory reform, consumer finance, housing finance, tax reform and trade relations. Prior to joining GPG, Caruso worked on Wall Street, most recently as a Senior Analyst for Goldman Sachs, working for the Structured Assets and Liabilities Group. Prior to that, he served as a Senior Risk Consultant for Ernst & Young in their financial services practice. Caruso holds a Master’s degree in Campaign Management and Communications from The George Washington University’s Graduate School of Political Management. He also holds a Master of Business Administration from Union College in New York, and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, also from Union College. He lives in Bethesda, Maryland.
