Bradley Byrne

Bradley Byrne is an American business attorney and politician. He was a Democrat till 1997 when he switch to the Republican party. Bradley Byrne was born and raised in Mobile, AL. He attended University Military School in Mobile. After completing his undergraduate studies at Duke University, Bradley came home and received his law degree from the University of Alabama School of Law. He practiced law in Mobile for more than 30 years, always active in the local community in various service organizations. In 2002, Bradley won the Republican nomination and general election to the State Senate representing District 32, and he was reelected in 2006. In 2007, Bradley was appointed by the Alabama State Board of Education as Chancellor of the Alabama Department of Postsecondary Education, to serve as the chief executive officer of Alabama’s two-year college system. Since 2010, Bradley has worked as an attorney in Mobile focusing on economic development efforts for a wide range of business clients. He has been married to the former Rebecca Dukes of Montgomery for 32 years. Rebecca is the Executive Director of United Way of Baldwin County, and they are the parents of four children: Patrick, a graduate of The University of the South, works for Hargrove Engineers + Constructors in Mobile; Kathleen, a graduate of the University of Alabama, works in Huntsville; Laura, a graduate of Tulane University, works for Mobile Baykeeper in Mobile; and Colin, a junior at Tulane University.
