Mr. Johnson was a partner for 21 years with Arthur Andersen & Co., and is a retired partner of Accenture, previously called Andersen Consulting. He served in the information technology consulting practice, and was Managing Partner of Andersen’s Consulting practice in Cleveland. He subsequently served as the Andersen Country Managing Partner responsible for all firm services in Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan. He held various management responsibilities involving Audit, Tax, Consulting, and Professional Education, and for several years was Andersen Consulting’s Retail Industry leader. He was a founder of Andersen Consulting’s Change Management service line and a member of its global Management Team. Following retirement from Andersen Consulting, Mr. Johnson was a founder of VIA International LLC. He served as chairman of that firm, with offices in Chicago, London, New York, and Singapore until his retirement in 1999. He subsequently continued consulting for major clients as RDJ Ltd. He is also the owner of Ventures 33 LLC, a real estate investment firm. Mr. Johnson has extensive international experience. In his work for clients and in management roles at Andersen and VIA, he has worked in Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, Ivory Coast, Hong Kong, Iran, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Norway, Peru, the Philippines, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Trinidad & Tobago, the United Kingdom, and Venezuela. Mr. Johnson’s civic involvement includes the Ravinia Festival in Chicago, of which he is a member of the Board of Trustees, having served four years as its vice chairman; president and treasurer of United Way of Lake Forest/Lake Bluff (Illinois); vice president of Lake Forest District 67 Board of Education; executive vice president of the Lake Forest Symphony Association; and Chicago general campaign coordinator for the American Cancer Society. His volunteer support of The Ohio State University includes the Alumni Association’s Board of Directors, which he served as vice chairman; the Alumni Advisory Council; chairman of the Advisory Board of the Presidents Club; Dean’s Advisory Council and the Campaign Committees of the Fisher College of Business; Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering Alumni Advisory Council; College of Engineering Chicago Advisory Board; the Ruth Weimer Mount Leadership Initiative Stewardship Council; and the Chicago National Major Gifts Committee. Mr. Johnson earned Bachelor of Industrial Engineering and Master of Business Administration degrees from The Ohio State University. He is a Certified Public Accountant (Ohio and Illinois), Professional Engineer (Ohio), and holds the Certificate in Data Processing from the Institute for Certification of Computer Professionals. In 1998, Mr. Johnson was awarded the Alumni Citizenship Award by The Ohio State University Alumni Association and the Gerlach Development Volunteer Award by the University. He was selected in 2002 for the Distinguished Alumni Award by the Fisher College of Business. Also in 2002, the national Sigma Chi Fraternity recognized Mr. Johnson as a Significant Sig. In 2006, he received The Ohio State University Distinguished Service Award. In 1976, he received the Association for Systems Management Distinguished Service Award. He is listed in Marquis Who’s Who in Finance and Industry, Who’s Who in America, and Who’s Who in the World. Mr. Johnson served three years as an officer in the United States Air Force. He subsequently served for several years as a reserve officer, attaining the rank of captain. Mr. Johnson is currently an active member of the Pelican Marsh Golf Club in Naples, Florida. He previously has been a member of the Metropolitan Club of Chicago, the Executives Club of Chicago, the Cleveland Yachting Club, the Imperial Country Club in Tehran, Iran, the Lake Forest Club, the Lake Geneva (Wisconsin) Yacht Club, the Vail (Colorado) Racquet Club, and the Pelican Isle Yacht Club in Naples, Florida. Mr. Johnson and his wife, Ann, a graduate of Oregon State University, are the parents of three children, Julie, Jennifer, and Douglas. Julie holds an MBA degree from the Fisher College of Business.
