Martha Kongsgaard joined WWF in 1997 and has served on its Board since 2010. Martha, an attorney, is Chair of the Leadership Council of the Puget Sound Partnership, a community-wide effort to restore and protect Puget Sound. She serves on the advisory Boards of the UW College of the Environment, the UW Center for Human Rights, and the Ruckelshaus Center; is a member of the Board of IslandWood; and is a past Board President of Philanthropy Northwest. She has helped lead numerous community campaigns, and has spoken broadly about philanthropy and the environment for the past 25 years. Martha has been honored with the Woman of the Year Award by Seattle University School of Law, and the Environmental Hero Award from the Washington Environmental Council. The Kongsgaard-Goldman Foundation, created with her husband Peter Goldman in 1988, supports Northwest environmental, social justice and arts organizations.
