Born in Cincinnati, Ohio. Jane holds an A.B. from Harvard College, cum laude, and a J.D., summa cum laude, from Washington College of Law of The American University in Washington, D.C. She practiced law, specializing in litigation and employment law, with the firms Black McCuskey and the Soles Law Offices in Canton, Ohio. She also served as a Magistrate and staff attorney to Honorable Sara Lioi of the Court of Common Pleas, Stark, County, Ohio. She currently serves as the Vice-Chair of the Stark County Republican Party, as the Chair of the Board of Trustees of Kent State University, as a member of the Board of Community Services of Stark County, the Advisory Board of the About Magazine for The Repository, and the Archangel Committee for St. Michael Parish. Previously, Jane served as the Chair of ArtsinStark, the Stark County arts council, as Co-Chair of KIMONO, the year-long festival celebrating the works of Japanese artist Ichiku Kubota, as a member and Chair of the Academic Committee of the Northeast Ohio Universities Collaboration & Innovation Study Commission, as a member of the Board of Directors of Unizan Bank Corp., as a member of the Boards of Family Services, Inc., and the Ohio Legal Assistance Foundation. Jane lives in Canton, Ohio with her husband Tim Timken and her two children.
