Marygrace Galston has worked over a decade in the political arena with various electoral campaigns, non-profit organizations and issue advocacy campaigns. Prior to consulting for the Smoot Tewes Group, Marygrace was a Senior Political Advisor and White House Liaison for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, starting in January 2009. Before joining the Obama Administration, Marygrace worked on the Obama Campaign from day one of the organization, starting as the Deputy State Director for the pivotal Iowa Caucuses in 2007-2008. She helped create and manage the largest grassroots organization in Presidential Caucus history, and managed the caucus campaign’s multi-million dollar budget. During the 2008 General Election, she was the National Campaign for Change Director, helping state parties and the Obama Campaign set up the ground operation in 23 battleground states. In 2006, Marygrace managed the Coordinated Campaign in Washington State, and oversaw the successful campaign efforts — including strategic data targeting and voter modeling — to re-elect U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell and other candidates across the state. Marygrace served as the Field Director for U.S. Senator Patty Murray’s successful campaign in 2004, and later joined Senator Murray’s official staff. She has worked on numerous other campaigns across the country, including John Kerry’s victory in the Iowa Caucuses. A native of Durango, Colorado, Marygrace studied Politics at Colorado State University.
