Ann B Rembrandt

Ann B. Rembrandt is a Member of the Firm's Administrative Practice Group, focusing in the defense of occupational pneumoconiosis claims filed under the Federal Black Lung Act and the West Virginia Workers' Compensation Act, arising out of exposure to coal, glass, asbestos and chemicals. In defending these claims, Ms. Rembrandt has appeared before the United States Department of Labor, the Office of Administrative Law Judges, the Benefits Review Board, the United States District Court, the United States Circuit Courts of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court. She has addressed the Office of Administrative Law Judges Annual Training Conference regarding the defense perspective of litigating federal black lung cases. Additionally, Ms. Rembrandt has regularly appeared before the West Virginia Workers' Compensation Division, the Office of Judges, Appeal Board and the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals, as well as the West Virginia Occupational Pneumoconiosis Board. Prior to joining the Firm, Ms. Rembrandt served as an attorney adviser for the Office of Administrative Law Judges within the United States Department of Labor. She graduated cum laude from Thomas More College in 1981 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in history and an Associate of Arts degree in psychology. She received her law degree in 1983 from the University of Louisville School of Law, where she was a member of the Journal of Law and Education. Ms. Rembrandt has been admitted to practice in the state courts of Kentucky, Ohio and West Virginia, the United States District Courts for the Western District of Kentucky and the Southern District of West Virginia and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth, Sixth and Seventh Circuits.
