Dmytro Fedkowskyj is a community advocate with a long history of volunteering his time and energies to the parents and children of this city. First selected by the Parents of District 24 to serve on the Community District Education Council (CDEC) in July 2004--a position he held for more than 4 years--he currently serves as the second vice-chair on Community Board 5, as a representative of Middle Village and sits on the Land Use and Education committees. In May 2008, Queens Borough President Helen Marshall appointed Dmytro to serve as the Queens representative on the Panel for Educational Policy. As a Panel member, Dmytro also serves as a Board Trustee for the New York City Board of Education Retirement System, contributing his perspective in the oversight and governance of the BERS for the welfare of its employees.
