Alexia von Lipsey’s areas of expertise are U.S. foreign policy, military presence and security interests in the Mediterranean, Middle East and Persian Gulf. She has been involved with U.S. national security interests in the Middle East for over 20 years, during which time she worked with U.S. Navy and Department of Defense decision-makers in Washington, D.C., and in the field. She has also worked with corporate and non-profit organizations as a consultant and as a fundraiser. Her current interests focus on cultural and public diplomacy. Ms. von Lipsey grew up in the Middle East and Latin America. She has traveled throughout Europe, Central and South Asia and resided in the Persian Gulf. She speaks Arabic, English, Greek and Spanish fluently; other spoken languages have included Dari, Turkish and Russian. Ms. von Lipsey holds an A.B. in political science and an M.A. in Near Eastern studies from Bryn Mawr College and Princeton University, respectively.
