Booz Allen Hamilton Senior Vice President Dee Dee Helfenstein is a leader in the firm’s financial services business, leading the revenue, grants and payments sub-account. She has more than 15 years of commercial and government consulting experience across a number of industries, including pharmaceutical, medical devices, transportation, and government. She is an expert in strategy and organization and has supported clients, such as the US Internal Revenue Service (IRS), Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), Federal Reserve, Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), National Science Foundation (NSF), and the Departments of Agriculture, Navy, and Homeland Security. Ms. Helfenstein leads the firm’s management consulting capability and has deep expertise in the following areas: Enterprise transformation Change management Stakeholder engagement Organizational design and restructuring Program management Business strategy and improvement Since joining Booz Allen in 1998, Ms. Helfenstein has been involved in numerous high-profile engagements, including the modernization of the IRS, one of the largest enterprise transformations of its kind at a federal agency. The effort included a comprehensive restructuring of the entire agency that impacted all employees and functional and operating units. In recognition of the client service she and her team have provided to the IRS, she is a two-time recipient of the Professional Excellence Award, Booz Allen’s highest honor. In addition, she received the IRS Commissioner’s Award for the design of the Large and Mid-Size Business Division, the Small Business/Self Employed (SB/SE) Commissioner’s Award for the stand-up of this new division, and the Hammer Award for Re-inventing Government. Ms. Helfenstein served on the Board of Directors of Suited for Change, which provides professional clothing and ongoing career and life skills education to help low-income women increase their employment and job retention potential and to contribute to their economic independence. She serves as an instructor at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business teaching change management for the Change Management Advanced Practitioner program. Ms. Helfenstein graduated from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University with a B.S. degree in psychology.
