A Senior Vice President at Booz Allen Hamilton, Bill Wansley provides consulting support to commercial, nonprofit, and governmental enterprises. He leads multidisciplinary consulting teams providing a full range of strategic and operational-level management and technology consulting services, including national security strategy, enterprise, operational and technology strategy, digital enterprise strategies, operational and technology risk management, organizational design, and stand-up and innovation. Mr. Wansley focuses on solving emerging strategic and operational challenges in the national security-related enterprises based on emerging digital strategies. He has developed innovative advanced analytic services focused on the application of financial intelligence to anti-money laundering, counter-terrorism, and illicit finance problems, and applies these insights to broader operational risk management challenges. He previously served as the program manager for several national security-related projects and contributed to a broad range of security-related services, skills, and insights, including strategic planning, cybersecurity strategy and assessments, operational intelligence support, and advanced analytics. Mr. Wansley has 30 years of professional experience as an operational US Army officer, a national security policy planner, and a management consultant for the US intelligence community. His operational military experience includes serving as a field commander, division level war planner, and national security strategist. For the past 14 years, he has supported US intelligence community clients in solving national security risk-related challenges through strategic planning and advanced analytics. In the past year, he has leveraged his intelligence community experience to advise financial services organizations in understanding and responding to cybersecurity threats and risks. His national-level policy planning experience includes serving as a strategic planner responsible for the Joint Strategic Planning System for the Directorate of Strategic Plans and Policy, J5, Joint Staff. Later in his career, he again served the J5 as a national security policy planner and Joint Staff representative for international negotiations on the Treaty for Conventional Forces in Europe (CFE Treaty). While a student at the School of Advanced Military Studies (SAMS), Mr. Wansley published monographs on tactical leadership and a theory of peace, based on the synthesis and integration of traditional military theory and contemporary business management best practices. He holds a B.Ss degree in general engineering from the US Military Academy, West Point, an M.B.A. degree from Creighton University, and an M.M.A.S. in theater operations from SAMS.
