Robert E. Poole ’72 is CEO of several companies including: S&A Homes, a home building and land development company, Poole Anderson Construction, a construction management design/build and general contracting firm, Allied Mechanical and Electrical, a comprehensive electrical, HVAC and plumbing contractor, and Space Mart Development Company. As CEO of Space Mart and Partner in Urban Storage Fund he has developed self-storage facilities along the east coast. S&A Homes, Inc. has consistently been listed as one of the top builders of single and multi-family residential homes in the country and in 2016, Affordable Housing Finance listed S&A’s Affordable Housing Division on their list of Top 50 developers. Bob develops and invests in many areas of Real Estate including apartments and retail centers. Dedicating his time to improving the accessibility and quality of healthcare both nationally and locally, Bob has served on the Geisinger Health Board of Directors since 2005. Currently, Bob is a member of the Executive Committee for A Greater Penn State for 21st Century Excellence Campaign and in the past was chair of the Leadership Gifts Committee of For the Future: The Campaign for Penn State Students and was on the Executive Committee of the Penn State Grand Destiny Campaign. Bob is Chair of the Schreyer Honors College Advisory Board and serves on the Board of Visitors for the Smeal College of Business. Active in a variety of business affairs, Bob’s activities include service on the boards of several public companies including: Aqua Penn, United Federal Bank, Waypoint Bank, Tower Bank, Susquehanna Bank, and Old Dominion National Bank. Bob earned a B.S. degree in accounting at Penn State in 1972 and an M.B.A. from Fairleigh Dickinson. Bob was recognized with Penn State’s Alumni Fellow Award in 2001 and the Distinguished Alumni Award in 2006. Bob and his wife Sandy live in State College.
