Liz has more than 10 years experience in a variety of roles in Washington, D.C. She served most recently as the Health Policy Director and Counsel for the U.S. Senate Committee on Budget under U.S. Senator Judd Gregg (R-NH). At the Committee, Liz was responsible for managing the health policy staff and directing the Senator's health-related legislative agenda. She also led the Senator's health reform and health-related reconciliation efforts, including bi-partisan HELP Committee negotiations and markup, development of an alternative health reform proposal and participation in the Senate Republican leadership team on health reform. From 2005 until 2009, Liz served as Health Policy Counsel of the Budget Committee where she served as the lead health policy staffer for Senator Gregg on FDA issues and was responsible for issues such as drug importation and drug safety, follow-on biologics, device regulation and food safety, in addition to biodefense, health insurance and medical liability reform. Liz represented Senator Gregg in HELP Committee and bi-cameral negotiations, including serving as a staff negotiator for the FDA Amendments Act of 2007 Conference and the FDA Food Safety Modernization Act of 2010.
