Previously, Mark served as a managing director at Bankers Trust New York Corp. and its successor, Deutsche Bank, where he worked on risk management issues. He is a former chief of staff at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. and, earlier, the chief of staff, special adviser to the Comptroller, and special assistant to the chief counsel at the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency.He began his career at the law firm of Covington & Burling in Washington, D.C. Mark received a Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School in 1990 and a Bachelor of Science in physics from Wheaton College in 1987.
