Susan served at the Office of Comptroller of the Currency for more than 30 years. She specialized in retail credit for the majority of her tenure and was instrumental in building the agency's retail credit program. As Director for Retail Credit Policy, her primary responsibility was policy development and risk identification for the areas of retail credit, mortgage, and securitization. She was heavily involved in remediating issues associated with the 2007-8 financial crisis and the deterioration of the mortgage industry and overall borrower performance. She was also involved in evaluating the impact and consequences of legislative and regulatory changes affecting other consumer lending products, including credit cards. Susan was responsible at the OCC for the supervision of a full range of consumer lending products of some of the nation's largest financial institutions. She also served two years as the Director for Compliance at a large credit card and consumer-products lender.
