Thomas W. Faist, Esq., Principal, has widespread knowledge and understanding in establishing working alliances to provide comprehensive government affairs and strategic planning services to all clients. Tom has represented insurers, banks, securities firms, health care plans, transportation entities, environmental, energy and telecommunications companies, trade associations and professional organizations, to name a few. From 2004-present, Tom has been at the helm of Faist Government Affairs Group, LLC, a full-service lobbying, regulatory and contract procurement firm. From 2000-2003, Tom served as Executive Vice President & General Counsel of the Life Insurance Council of New York, Inc. (LICONY), the trade association representing the life insurance industry in New York. Tom was also Chair of LICONY-PAC, where he devised political action committee strategies to optimize the impact of political contributions to targeted elected officials and candidates supportive of the goals of the life insurance industry. Prior to joining LICONY, Tom was a lobbying principal (from 1995-2000) with Bogdan, Marsh and Faist, P.C., a top-ten New York lobbying law firm. In 2000, Tom became President of Bogdan and Faist, P.C. Tom was also once Chief Counsel to then Senator John R. Dunne, sequentially Chair of the New York State Senate Standing Committees on Corporations, Authorities & Commissions; Environmental Conservation & Recreation; and Judiciary. Tom holds an A.B. from Clark University (Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa); an M.B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley; and a J.D. from the Albany Law School of Union University. He is admitted to the bars of New York and the U.S. District Court, Northern District of New York.
