The 55-year-old insurance Officer Paul Achleitner from Austria of lower-middle. His father was a bank official of a regional bank, his mother a housewife. He studied economics in St. Gallen. There he also met his wife, economics professor Ann-Kristin Achleitner, with whom he has three sons. After graduation and visit Harvard Business School in Boston, he worked for the consulting firm Bain to 1988 then switch to Goldman Sachs in New York. Next Goldman stations were London and finally Frankfurt, where he served as managing director and partner of the German commercial bank, together with Phil Murphy, who is now U.S. ambassador to Berlin. After the IPO, the bank he joined the board of the Alliance. With his wife, the economics professor Ann-Kristin Achleitner, he leads a reclusive life unpretentious. Professionally, however, they are a power couple sitting together in six German Dax supervisory boards.
