Jim Riley received his Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from Saint John’s University in 1974; Masters in Business Administration in 1975; and an Honorary Degree of Doctor in 2003. Jim is a retired partner and managing director at Goldman Sachs New York. He is the President of the Riley Family Foundation. Jim is a current Board of Trustees member of Sacred Heart Academy, Hempstead, NY. He co-chaired Sacred Heart’s first capital campaign in 2004 and is a current member of the Presidents Council/Parents at Villanova University. Jim is a former board member of Saint Joseph’s in Garden City, NY, former trustee’s member, executive communications member and chair of institutional advancement at Saint John’s University. The Riley family is a sponsor of “Team We Care”. This team is active with many young people swimming, walking, running, and bowling for various charitable causes geared towards medical and educational fields. In 2001 Jim was selected as Big Brothers Man of the Year. In 2002 he endowed the Student Manage Investment Fund at Saint John’s University and the Catholic Big Brothers University Scholarship. In 2003, Jim endowed the Children’s Aid Society University Scholarship. At Villanova University in 2005, Jim endowed the Riley Family Campus Ministry program. Jim is active in endowing scholarships for children’s aid society, catholic big brothers, family and childrens services on Long Island. Jim and his wife, Ellen, have four daughters, Brigid, Shannon, Kerry Lynn and Courtney, all products of Catholic Education and live in Garden City, NY.
