Before joining Promontory, Konrad served as Executive Vice President and Chief Public Policy Officer at Providian Financial Corp., and as a senior vice president at Golden West Financial Corp., the parent company of World Savings. Konrad's public service includes positions as counsel to the U.S. Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs, where he participated in legislative efforts to resolve the savings and loan crisis, strengthen the deposit insurance system, and improve consumer protection in financial services. He also served as Chief of Staff and Senior Deputy Comptroller for Economic Analysis and Public Affairs at the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, and was Editor of the Harvard Law Review while in law school.
