Councilman Tabor has a long distinguished career in public and private services to his community. He previously served as Senior Community Organizer for the Los Angeles Alliance for a New Economy; Community Voice-PICO; Coalition for a Better Inglewood; Negotiator for the $500 million dollar Community Benefits Agreement between the Los Angeles World Airports; the LAX Coalition for Economic, Environmental and Educational Justice; and Program Manager with the Community Development Commission, County of Los Angeles. From 1993 to 1996, Councilman Tabor served as the Southern California Liaison for the Office of the Secretary, United States Department of Commerce, under Secretary Ronald H. Brown. Councilman Tabor brings to the community vast experience in the areas of public policy development and community planning. In addition to service as a member of the Board of Directors of the League of California Cities, where he chaired the Community, Housing and Economic Development Committee, Councilman Tabor has also served on the Board of Director of the National League of Cities and as the President of the National Black Caucus of Local Elected Officials. He also served as Planner of the Los Angeles United Way.
