Rita Cullum s a shareholder with the law firm of Ellis, Lawhorne & Sims, PA, specializing in estate planning, fiduciary litigation and related tax matters. She assists clients in developing and implementing estate plans that address individual needs. Rita also works extensively in the area of planned giving, helping clients in the preparation of charitable trusts, charitable gift annuities and other gift agreements. Active in her profession and the community, Rita is State Chair of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel and a member of the Supreme Court of South Carolina Commission on Continuing Legal Education and Specialization. She serves on the boards of the University of South Carolina Educational Foundation, The Planned Giving Council and The Palmetto Club, is a member of Junior League of Columbia and a founding member of Women in Philanthropy. Rita received her Bachelor of Science in Business Adminstration from the University of South Carolina and her and Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law. She has received the Compleat Lawyer Award from the University of South Carolina’s Law School Alumni Association and the YWCA’s Tribute to Women in Industry Diamond Honoree Award.
