Fred Goodwin

Accountant, Banker, formerly Director of Yorkshire Bank, Clydesdale Bank, National Westminster Bank and finally the Royal Bank of Scotland, where he was CEO from 2000 to 2008. He was CEO in the period leading up to the collapse of RBS in 2008 and was judged, by the Financial Services Authority in its Dec 2011 report on the collapse, to carry a large responsibility for poor decisions contributing to the failure. He had held a knighthood but was stripped of this in January 2012.
