Michael A. J. Farrell was elected on December 5, 1996 to serve as Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Farrell was appointed our President effective January 1, 2002. He was a founder of FIDAC and, since November 1994, he has been its President and Chief Executive Officer. He is a member of the board of directors of the U.S. Dollar Floating Rate Fund. Prior to founding FIDAC, from February 1992 to July 1994, Mr. Farrell served as President of Citadel Funding Corporation. From April 1990 to January 1992, Mr. Farrell was a managing director for Schroder Wertheim & Co. Inc. in the fixed income department. In addition to being the former Chairman of the Primary Dealers Operations Committee of the Public Securities Association (from 1981 through 1985) and its mortgage-backed securities division, he is a former member of the Executive Committee of its Primary Dealers Division. Prior to his employment with Schroder Wertheim, Mr. Farrell had been President of L.F. Rothschild Mortgage Capital, Inc., Vice President of Trading at Morgan Stanley and Co., Inc., and Senior Vice President of Merrill Lynch and Co., Inc. Mr. Farrell began his career at E.F. Hutton and Company in 1971. Mr. Farrell has 32 years of experience in fixed income trading, management and operations.
