Alex Davis is one of Colorado’s most respected authorities on water and natural resource issues. Prior to joining GBSM, Davis was the Assistant Director for Water with the Colorado Department of Natural Resources and the First Assistant Attorney General for the Water Rights Unit where she litigated cases for the State Engineer's Office, the Colorado Water Conservation Board and the Division of Wildlife. She also served as the Director of the Interbasin Compact Committee in the Office of the Governor as well as on various other influential boards and committees including the Colorado Ground Water Commission, Colorado Water Conservation Board, Western States Water Council, Governor Ritter’s South Platte Task Force, Colorado Foundation for Water Education Board and the Colorado Supreme Court Water Rules Committee. In these roles she provided leadership and vision for numerous state water resource and water operations initiatives. Most recently, Davis was in private practice as an attorney specializing in water issues. Davis is a graduate of Pitzer College in Claremont California and the University of Colorado School of Law.
