Peter Fahey is a retired limited partner of Goldman Sachs, with whom he has been associated since 1975. He was named a vice president in 1978 and a general partner in 1982. Prior to joining the firm, he worked in the field of membrane separation, first as a scientist and later in manufacturing. He received an M.B.A. with highest honors in 1975 from Harvard Business School and was designated a Baker Scholar. A Dartmouth Trustee from 1994 to 2004, he has been a member of the executive committee of Thayer School and of the major gifts committee of the College's Will to Excel Campaign. Helen and Peter Fahey are residents of Port Washington, N.Y., and Hanover, N.H. Helen graduated from Skidmore in 1967 and has shared Peter's Dartmouth experience since 1968, when they were married and lived in Sachem Village from 1968 to 1970. All four of their children—Kim Fahey Brown M.D. '92, Peter Jr. '94, Michael M.D. '97, and Katie '06—are Dartmouth graduates, as are two of Peter's brothers—Steve '70, DMS '72, and Tim '74. Theyhave committed more than $13 million, including some of the earliest gifts to the $1.3 billion Campaign for the Dartmouth Experience.
