Timothy J. Bork is currently the Principal of Skye LLC, a private investment company. He also practices law in Washington, DC focusing on international commercial transactions and assisting non-profit organizations committed to assisting developing countries. Mr. Bork served as director of the Africa Policy Initiative of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace from 1996 to 2002. As Director of Africa and Middle East Programs (AME) at the Ford Foundation, from 1993 t0 996, he was responsible for the direction and oversight of Ford's programming in Africa and the Middle East. Mr. Bork also served as a Foreign Service Officer (Minister Counselor rank) for 19 years with the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). While there, he was Acting Deputy Assistant Administrator of the Africa Bureau, Director of Sahel West Africa Affairs, and from 1986-1988, he served as USAID’s first Mission Director to South Africa. Mr. Bork earned a Master of Laws degree from Georgetown University in 1971 and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Georgia School of Law in 1969.
