Ms. Moritz took a circuitous route to success as one of New York's star litigators. She finished first in her class of 250 at Hofstra University Law School in 1977 and joined midsized Schulte Roth & Zabel, following its top litigator, John Martin, to the U.S. attorney's office. She quickly proved herself a sharp prosecutor, convicting four of six defendants on murder and robbery charges in the highly publicized Brinks trial in 1983. She returned to Schulte Roth as a partner there in 1988.
She graduated from Vassar College and the Hofstra University School of Law. Her father is president of Courtime, a sporting goods distributor in Sag Harbor.more » « less
