Associated Press, September 24th, 1947: "American, Canadian and British financiers have organized to 'bridge over the breakdown in foreign exchange and lick the dollar shortage by 4-or-5 way international trading,' Frank T. Ryan announced today. Mr. Ryan, a textile manufacturer and partner in the New York Stock Exchange firm of Bache & Co., said the World Commerce Corporation has been recapitalized at $1,000,000. It succeeds the British American Canadian Corp, organized in September 1945."
