Pilot Program | aims to improve the literacy, numeracy & science outcomes of students & increase teacher pedagogical skills in schools with a high proportion of Indigenous students through the use of Explicit Instruction. The pilot program delivers training, coaching, and monitoring services via online, self-paced learning modules. The pilot program was announced as part of the 2020-2021 Federal Budget. Funding of $5.77m for the pilot program and evaluation was announced in the Budget 2020-2021: Investing in Education and Research media release, 6 October 2020. In 2021, the Australian Government committed further funding of $5 million under the Scaling Up Proven Primary Reading Programs measure to increase the number of participating schools from 10 to 20.
