About the Foundation The American Board of Pediatrics (ABP) Foundation is a supporting organization of the ABP. Founded in 1986 with initial funding from the ABP, the Foundation operates separately from the ABP and is governed by its own Board of Directors and By-Laws. Mission The ABP Foundation supports the mission of the ABP to ensure excellence in the education of pediatricians and the delivery of pediatric care. The Foundation achieves this goal by pursuing rigorous research, convening collaborators in health care, developing and disseminating collective expertise, and promoting innovation, ultimately fostering the health and well-being of children and families. Aim Work funded by the ABP Foundation aims to inform and improve ABP processes, with the goal of supporting pediatricians in meeting and exceeding standards of excellence in pediatric training and health care and, ultimately, improving child health.
