IU BUSINESS RESEARCH CENTER (IBRC) The IU Business Research Center (IBRC) is one of the oldest (est. 1925) state university research centers in Indiana. Its mission is to provide insights and analysis on the populations and economies of Indiana, serving as the State’s representative to the US Census Bureau and producer of the State’s state and county population projections. The IBRC was the first to provide access (via dial up) to digital data to Indiana’s citizens back in the 1970s under the auspices of the Lt. Governor’s office and it continues to build and maintains its large economic and demographic databases on behalf of the citizens of Indiana.
