WOODBOURNE RESIDENTIAL TREATMENT CENTER Information provided by: Baltimore Mental Health Systems Inc. Woodbourne is one of the five oldest child welfare organizations in the United States, serving children since 1798. Woodbourne cares for youth with behavioral mental health problems stemming from abuse and neglect, traumatizing life experiences and family histories of mental health problems. The Residential Treatment Center is a comprehensive residential program which provides intensive psychiatric treatment to male adolescents (ages 12 to 18) who have a long standing history of emotional, behavioral, social, legal and educational problems which can not be treated in other settings. Clients learn appropriate behavior and build character, as well as explore and heal from their own trauma. This is done through an integration of evidenced based practices which we call Restorative Healing. Referrals to this program typically come from local departments of social services, the department juvenile justice, or from core service agencies such as Baltimore Mental Health Systems (BMHS).
