The FHWGroup is a Washington, DC based research and advisory firm that focuses on changing the way under-served communities are engaged. We have decades of experience in the public and private sectors and a special knack for assessing root causes of the most intractable problems that hamper growth and development. Our name is our mission; FHWGroup – For Human Welfare. Tackle Root Causes - Our engagement approach tackles root causes before developing solutions. Build Capability for Growth - We focus on building capability instead of passive knowledge transfer. Minimize Cost - We leverage local talent and our existing networks to minimize overhead and provide cost-savings for our clients. What We Do We tackle the issues that disproportionately impact under-served communities. To do so, we assess root causes before attempting to develop solutions. Working with thoughtful actors who have a stake in solving pressing business and community challenges and an understanding of local context and “need”, we bring fresh perspective and a new vision for how to move forward. Community Planning The FHWGroup partners with local governments and the private sector to develop innovative strategies that improve the functioning and appearance of blocks, neighborhoods and cities. In poorer communities, blight and disrepair tend to dominate the landscape and perpetuate a downward spiral that degrades overall quality of life and stunts economic growth. Developing and maintaining well functioning, healthy communities will require coordinated effort from funding to implementation. Our skilled team will work with you to determine what approaches make the most sense for your situation. Community Engagement The FHWGroup transforms how governments deliver their environmental and economic development messages. We help you ask the right questions and use the most appropriate communications channels to deliver solutions with impact. Connecting directly with a community is more than just sending email or SMS messages and posting to social media. It’s about providing relevant information to target constituents, when they need it, to drive actions that create immediate and lasting value for the community. Human Development Sometimes significant infrastructure improvements are required to create enabling environments for growth. However, in many cases, providing more infrastructure will not address the root causes that actually hinder a community’s development. Given our focus on identifying root causes before developing solutions, we use research, strategic planning and engagement events to gain understanding and shape the development of impactful solutions.
