Agency Mission The Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation’s mission is to utilize responsive, innovative, transparent, and efficient (R.I.T.E.) governance to create an ideal regulatory environment that (1) allows economic growth to flourish, and (2) effectively optimizes consumer choice. Strategic Vision The IDFPR believes more can be done to ensure a faster, smarter and more accountable government — government that takes initiative to unite effective regulatory policy with exceptional service delivery. Uniting effective regulatory policy and exceptional service delivery allows the IDFPR to accomplish its primary objective as a regulator: mitigating the effects of negative market externalities. Effective management and consistent regulatory balance will benefit all Illinois citizens, making Illinois an ideal place to live and conduct business.
