Staunton Military Academy

All male Military High School in Staunton Virginia; closed in 1976

Founded by William H Kable in 1861, who served as the school's director in 1912 - taking time out to serve in the Civil War as a captain in the Army of the Confederacy. His son. William G Kable succeeded him. In 1973, the trustees shifted the school from proprietary to nonprofit but the school ceased operations after the 1975-1976 academic year.
