Carolyn Cohen

As a Ph.D. in clinical psychology, Carolyn has been affiliated with Harvard Medical School for many years as a clinician and clinical supervisor at the Judge Baker Children’s Center in Boston and as a clinical supervisor to clinicians working with children in the Boston school system through the resiliency program PEAR. In addition, for the past several years, Carolyn has volunteered her time doing direct service with children in under-served neighborhoods and participated on numerous boards dedicated to the resiliency and well being of children and families at risk in Boston and Miami. Carolyn has had a life long love of theater since seeing Arthur Miller’s A View from the Bridge on her first trip to NYC from her family home in Charleston, S.C when she was 9. She is an avid theatergoer and believes strongly, not only in the entertainment value of theater, but also in its ability to enlighten and educate us through our empathic and transformative experiences. Now that she is retired and spends much of her time in NYC, she frequents the theater multiple times a week and is so appreciative that the Martha’s Vineyard Playhouse provides comparable high quality theater to our wonderful island.
