He has served the Jewish United Fund/Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Chicago and Chicago’s Jewish community for nearly 50 years, including serving as the chairman of the board in 2002-2004. He previously served as general chairman of the 2001 Jewish United Fund-Israel Emergency Fund Annual Campaign. He has also chaired JUF/Federation’s Legacies and Endowments, audit and finance committees, financial division and Vanguard event. In addition, Mr. Rosenberg has served the worldwide Jewish community as president of the Israel Children’s Center, where he helped build 14 tennis centers throughout Israel. He also was president of the Jewish Council for Youth Services and the Spertus Museum. Mr. Rosenberg was on the board of the Jewish Community Centers of Chicago, Mount Sinai Hospital Medical Center and Louis A. Weiss Memorial Hospital, and was a founder of the Dawn Schuman Institute. Lester J. Rosenberg is the executive vice president of Superior Street Capitol Advisors Ltd. in Chicago. He has widely traveled the global Jewish community and has made more than 50 trips to Israel. A certified public accountant, Rosenberg is a 1950 graduate of the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting.
