Verissimo oversees the strategic planning service, corporate development group and the enterprise wide risk management group. Verissimo is also a voting member of Silicon Valley Bank's senior loan committee. Verissimo joined Silicon Valley Bank in 1993 as team leader for the Palo Alto Technology Group. He was quickly promoted to division manager for Northern California and became division manager for all of the California lending groups in 1996. From 1999 to 2002, Verissimo served SVB in several capacities, including two periods as interim chief financial officer. Verissimo also oversaw SVB Global and the expansion of overseas branches and the startup of SVB Analytics. Before joining Silicon Valley Bank, Verissimo was the manager of Comerica Bank's Technology Lending Group. Earlier in his career, he worked with First Interstate Bank as a loan team manager. Verissimo's banking career began with Bank of America, where he was a vice president and lending officer. Verissimo serves on the board of directors of the Entrepreneurs Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening the ties between entrepreneurial companies in the Bay Area and the communities in which they operate. Verissimo earned a bachelor's degree in agricultural economics from the University of California, Davis, and a master's degree in business administration from Harvard Business School.
