Ran unsuccessfully in 1990 against incumbent Democrat Peter Hoagland for the 2nd District seat which encompasses the Omaha area. She also was a candidate in 1988 in the Republican congressional primary. Milder eventually came to operate a political consulting and lobbying business, but is also known for leading the 1994 petition drive to put a constitutional amendment limiting congressional terms to two on the Nebraska ballot. Milder also was elected to the State Board of Education in 1992, serving until 1996.
