The Vikings lost a member of their football family when Ownership Partner Alan Landis passed away in April 2018. Landis was an original partner with the Wilf family in the acquisition of the Vikings in 2005 and helped set the course for building a successful franchise. He maintained an active role with the ownership group over the past 13 seasons, assisting in the development of U.S. Bank Stadium and Twin Cities Orthopedics Performance Center in Eagan. A graduate of New York University, Landis achieved acclaim in the business world and the philanthropic community through his visionary thinking in each area. As founder and chairman of The Landis Group, he put his stamp on the land development industry with a pair of landmarks – the Princeton Landmark Carnegie Center, which earned Landis the 1991 Urban Land Institute Award for Excellence, and the Tower Center Office and Hotel Complex. He was also part-owner of the NBA’s New Jersey Nets, NHL’s New Jersey Devils and MLB’s New York Yankees for a number of years and was instrumental in the establishment of the YES Network. Landis was active in causes ranging from the National Prevent Child Abuse Organization to the Foundation for Fighting Blindness. Landis is survived by his wife, Linda, daughter, Dana and son, Scott.
