Mike Zullo was a prominent volunteer posse leader and chief investigator for Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio, acting as a key, trusted operative in several of Arpaio’s most controversial and high-profile investigations. He served as the commander of Arpaio's "Cold Case Posse" and was a central figure in investigations regarding President Barack Obama's birth certificate and the "Seattle Operation".
In 2012 and again in 2016, Arpaio and his lead investigator, Mike Zullo, held press conferences with Corsi, claiming they had evidence (specifically, "white halos" and "layers" on the digital document) that the birth certificate was faked.
