Klayman founded Judicial Watch in 1994 and hired Fitton before leaving the organization in 2003. Fitton became president of Judicial Watch after Klayman's departure. However, in 2006, Klayman sued Judicial Watch and Fitton, and Judicial Watch also asserted several claims against Klayman. In 2019, Judicial Watch obtained a judgment against Klayman for misusing the organization's funds. Klayman has also made defamatory statements about Fitton in the past. Despite their past legal disputes, both Klayman and Fitton have continued to be involved in conservative activism. |
