Judge Ryan was a member of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces from 2006 to 2020. Before that, she was partner at Wiley Rein & Fielding in Washington, D.C., from 2004 to 2006, and an associate and a partner at Bartlit Beck Herman Palenchar & Scott in Denver, Colorado from 2002 to 2004. She clerked for the Honorable Clarence Thomas of the Supreme Court of the United States in the October 2001 term after clerking for the Honorable J. Michael Luttig of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. Judge Ryan served as an officer in the United States Marine Corps from 1986 to 1999. She is an elected member of the American Law Institute. |
